Photo Cred : Understated Leather Don’t Mess With Texas Campaign
Understated Leather is the example of a perfect pairing of talented minds and crafty hands.
Husband and wife team Jen and Josh, have built their brand around the idea of individuality. The Australian/Texan duo, craft hand made and up-cycled, vintage pieces that make you want to grab a guitar, kick up some dirt and ride into the Texas sunset on a motorcycle wearing nothing but a leather jacket. Well, looking at their newest campaign “Don’t Mess With Texas” that’s exactly what their wafty model Anna Herrin did.
The Understated Leather collection features leather jackets with metal hardware, laboriously pieced together by hand, denim jackets with engraved leather patches, fringed suede vests, engraved leather wallets and clutches and a completely custom made service.
In a world where fast fashion is ruling the roost, where clothing is produced in the tens of thousands, it’s more than a breath of fresh air seeing a label producing sustainable, ethical, good old fashioned hand made product.
With a “Go your own way” attitude, there is nothing standing in the way of this duo and the world other than global shipping. And they do that too.
JIGSAW CLOTHING SS14 CAMPAIGN : SNEAK PEEK
Starring Katie Fogarty and Frederikke Olesen
While moonlighting as a beginner blogger, my current day job is working in the Design Team for Australian label Jigsaw Clothing.
As with most established labels there will always come a time to make a change. In Jigsaw’s case we are making a change to align ourselves more with our slightly cooler older Sister Jigsaw UK, well known for supplying the UK with cool relaxed silhouettes and luxurious fabrics and prints for the last few decades.
Jigsaw Clothing Australia currently caters to all your workwear, tailoring and occasion needs and our SS14 collection offers all that and more. Smart day and casual wear are making a come back at Jigsaw where we are resuscitating our denim range.
Additionally we continue our homage to Jigsaw’s motherland with our work with Liberty’s of London, providing Australia with a touch of England in the form of their signature prints.
Above is a sneak peek of our SS14 campaign, set to officially launch at the beginning of August.
