Stripe Boxy Tshirt Dress with Tail by Bassike
Pop quiz, hotshot: It’s 35 degrees, you’re headed to a family BBQ with kids, dogs, alcohol and a whole lot of food. What do you wear? WHAT DO YOU WEAR?!
Answer: A giant, oversized T-shirt dress that you can tuck into your undies when the day gets too hot. Duh
Where do you go when you need such a thing? Well you go back to Bassike, pronounced like basic, but providing so much more.
While you can now get a lot more from Bassike than just basics, they originally established themselves in 2006 as the go to brand for (I want to say basics but I won’t) everyday wardrobe staples.
Their jersey pieces are 100% organic cotton, light as a feather, but weighty enough to be worn without feeling naked and they get an A plus for their “Made in Australia” tag. Honestly, I never thought I could feel so luxurious in, what is essentially, an oversized T-shirt.
I’m all about pyjama dressing these days. Give me something that I could quite easily wear to bed, to the beach and to dinner with heels. Call it lazy, call it fashion, call it whatever you want.
All I know is that in this bad boy, I will be having seconds, maybe thirds… and definitely dessert.
On that note, Happy Australia Day you flaming galas! Let the BBQs commence.

Breathe in people, do you smell that? That’s the peak hour buses starting their regular timetable again, It’s the exhaust fumes from the cars that have been exploring coastal freeways instead of city bridges, and tunnels, it’s the cologne and perfume of people hustling and bustling their way back to work for the year. And it smells horrible.
Well while a lot of you have dusted off your suits, jeans, dresses… or whatever it is you wear to work, i’ve already been back for a week, and 2 days (yes I went back to work on the 2nd of January). What better way to throw myself into the year, than working like a pack horse, to get the first 3 months of SS15 designed and put into work before the whole of China closes for Chinese New Year.
Working long days, not getting home till very much past the latest of late dinner times has resulted in extremely low to null activity online and extremely high to unhealthy levels of late night carb intake, not to mention the predicted fall out from holiday feasting.
Fear not, there’s nothing a baggy playsuit can’t hide…

But first, here’s to a happy, healthy and productive 2015.
There’s something that I love about seeing beautiful, wafty models, enclosed within the confines of the backstage walls at International Fashion Weeks.
Back stage photographers give an outsider, an insiders view. Extremely mundane human tasks such as standing around looking bored, staring blankly at a wall or perusing Instagram on a small phone screen become the most amazing things that must be captured on film.
It’s like seeing a unicorn graze on cigarettes and diet coke. Who wouldn’t want a photo of that.
